This lesser used green is a great weight loss add-on to any dish. It is very low in calories and water concentration (95%). It has been used since ancient times by Greeks, Romans, and Egyptian because they believed in its health benefits. Endive is one of the richest sources of vitamin A. Other great nutrients found in endive:

- chlorine
- phosphorus

- carotene
As endive has a slightly bitter taste it works efficiently as an appetite stimulate.
